For some reason, when I hear “swamp,” I think of Jews.
To be honest, I had completely forgotten about this part of Trump’s agenda. But he didn’t – and is now making good on it.
TIME:
President Donald Trump signed a lifetime foreign-lobbying ban for members of his administration Saturday, as well as a five-year ban for all other lobbying.
I guess lobbying in general is a pretty corrupt practice. It’s great that it’s being attacking vigorously. But there’s one form of lobbying that’s particularly concerning: the Israeli lobby.
This needs to stop.
We need a complete ban on Jews giving bribes to government officials, and a complete ban on government officials becoming lobbyists for Israel.
This order is a very good start, as we’ll see later.
The lobbying ban was a central component of Trump’s campaign pledge to “drain the swamp” in Washington, D.C., though his commitment to the slogan has wavered. Trump has hired top donors to his campaign for administration jobs, while relying on industry lobbyists for both his transition and administration staff.
wew, lads.
Trump’s campaign was run on a shoestring budget, and the members of his team contributed to it. And now, those team members who were lobbyists will never again be able to work in their own fields.
Amazing how the lugenpresse can twist that into an attack on Trump.
These are the most dishonest people.
“This was something, the five year ban, that I was talking a lot about on the campaign trail and we will now put it into effect,” Trump said as he signed the order in the Oval Office.
Speaking to reporters earlier Saturday, a senior administration official confirmed that the ban wouldn’t keep lobbyists from joining the administration. “It’s not about your past, it’s about your future,” the official said.
I’ve read a few articles from the mainstream media about this executive action, and they’re mostly vague like this piece from TIME Magazine. I’ve had to go to the text of the executive order itself to get the full extent of the measures put into effect.
The key parts are the following:
4. I will not, at any time after the termination of my employment in the United States Government, engage in any activity on behalf of any foreign government or foreign political party which, were it undertaken on January 20, 2017, would require me to register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act of 1938, as amended.
5. I will not accept gifts from registered lobbyists or lobbying organizations for the duration of my service as an appointee.
The mask comes off; who could be intended by “foreign governments?” Mmmh.
This means that it is now forbidden for anyone in the executive branch to ever become a Israeli lobbyist, or receive gifts from lobbyists (Israeli or otherwise).
Of course, “gifts” could include anything, including simply being invited to dinner, so this makes it nearly impossible for Jews to give bribes to members of the executive.
Unfortunately, this only covers the executive branch. If Trump enacts a similar ban for members of Congress, the Israeli lobby will be more or less decapitated.
And here’s the good news: he promised to do that as well.
The concept of “lobbying” is currently defined by the “Lobbying Disclosure Act,” which does have some minor loopholes. But as Trump explained in the October speech above, he intends to close all of them down.
Trump is making good on all of his promises faster than anyone dared hope.
