Police are looking for the suspect accused of severely beating a 73-year-old woman inside her Forest Park flower shop.
A customer found 73-year-old Pat White lying on a sofa inside Red N Gold Florist in the 4800 block of College Street Saturday morning.
White told police she was approached by the suspect as she opened her store for the day. She said the man threatened her with a knife, demanding money from the register. She gave him all the cash inside — about $40. When the victim told him there was no more money, the suspect hit her in the face and ran.
Family members said White suffered irreparable damage to her left eye socket. She is scheduled to meet with a facial reconstruction expert to try to save the vision in her eye.
Forest Park police have released a composite sketch of the suspect, who the victim described as a slender black man in his early 20’s. Anyone who recognizes him or has information in this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS.
The Forest Park business community is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
