The Negro was high or intoxicated and had reverted back to his tribal nature of not wearing any clothes.

A naked man walking down the street caused quite the scare for elementary school administrators, forcing them to evacuate a playground and put the school on a brief lockdown.

A parent snapped a photo of the 24-year-old man about 12:50 p.m. Monday near Franklin Elementary located at 201 W Mill St.

“Officers were able to apprehend the man right away. They were able to tell that he was very intoxicated or high on something. They called for an ambulance and the man was taken to the hospital for evaluation,” said Capt. Andy Hedrick with the Liberty Police Department.

The school’s principal, Andy Wright, said third graders on the playground were hurried into the school as a precaution. He said it was possible that some students may have witnessed the police officers confronting the man.

Police arrested the man near Gallatin and Schraeder streets. Prosecutors say he will most likely face a charge of indecent exposure.
