Previously: The Onion Buys Infowars from Evil Court with the Backing of Sandy Hoax “Families”
So, it was announced that The Onion had bought Infowars, and then I saw a video from Alex Jones saying the judge blocked it, but I couldn’t understand what Alex was saying.
Apparently, there was no auction, or it was a secret auction and it was done because the supposed “families” of the fake kids who supposedly “died” at Sandy Hook wanted it to go to The Onion.
In fact, Elon has been trying to buy the site.
Attorneys for X Corp., the firm established by Elon Musk to take over Twitter, filed a notice of appearance on Thursday in the bankruptcy case of Alex Jones and his Infowars platform.
The new owners of satirical news site The Onion had been declared the successful bidders for Jones’ controversial platform, alongside families of the Sandy Hook massacre victims.
But this week, the Texas bankruptcy judge overhearing the case voiced concerns about the transparency of the auction process and called for a new hearing to discuss those potential issues.
“Nobody should feel comfortable with the results of the auction,” Judge Christopher M. Lopez said, according to a Bloomberg News report.
The X Corp. filing, dated Nov. 14 and first reported by Mother Jones, does not disclose the purpose of X’s appearance, other than to state the rights reserved to it as an interested party, and to request all relevant documents in the case.
Attorneys for X listed in the filing did not respond to a request for comment. A lawyer representing The Onion also did not respond to a request for comment.
It’s a funny story.
When Elon owns it, which he probably will, he should make it “Elon Musk’s Infowars.” Like when John Carpenter put his name in front of his movies.
Or no. Elon should tell Alex it has to be called “John Carpenter’s Infowars.”
Didn’t I do a running bit about “John Carpenter’s Daily Stormer”? I vaguely seem to remember…
Oh, right.
That was from the period when the site was briefly called “HOAX WATCH.”
I remember now.
Frankly, Infowars.com is sort of irrelevant to Alex Jones’ operation as long as he has access to Twitter and Rumble. He does video streams, so the news articles on his website are just a minor part of his operation at this point. He doesn’t write any of them himself. Infowars.com is a legacy item from before social media took over the internet, when instead of giving out your Twitter handle, you would shout out your website URL.
It’s sad to live in a reality where you don’t have any freedoms unless a billionaire decides to give them to you.
Still, I wish Elon Musk would give me some freedoms. At this point, he’s running the government. I don’t understand what he’s afraid of in allowing me on Twitter.
