Evil Company Snapchat Removes GIF Sticker Feature Because of Racism

Is there a more evil company than Snapchat?

First they came for our streaks.

Now, they’re coming for our GIFs.

Just how far are these sickos willing to go to make our lives miserable?

Millions of lives were ruined last month when Snapchat changed their interface to an unusable mess. And now, instead of apologizing in trying to repair the damage they’ve done to society, they’re doubling down, big time.

The government needs to come down on these criminals – while they still have the chance.

Tech Crunch:

Snapchat and Instagram have temporarily removed their Giphy GIF sticker features after users saw an extremely racist GIF as an option to add to their images. Snapchat confirms to TechCrunch “As soon as we were made aware, we removed the GIF and have disabled Giphy until we can be sure that this won’t happen again . . . while we wait for Giphy’s team to take a look at it.”

Let me ask you this: what the hell is the point of Snapchat if you can’t send your friends racist animated memes? How the hell are you supposed to keep a solid chat streak going if this ban on GIFs takes away all your content?

Typical Snapchat GIF #1.

Typical Snapchat GIF #2.

Typical Snapchat GIF #3.

The service is now basically useless.

A source tells TechCrunch the same racist GIF was spotted in Instagram as well, indicating that Giphy is at fault. A tweet by Lyauna Augmon shows the GIF being used within Instagram. Giphy appears to have removed the GIF as it’s no longer available in Instagram. An Instagram spokesperson tells TechCrunch “This type of content has no place on Instagram. We have stopped our integration with Giphy as they investigate the issue.” The company confirms the change has been made but might take some time to propagate to all users.

The Snapchat spokesperson says that all GIFs in Snapchat are meant to be “rated PG,” meaning they’re mostly suitable for the 13-and-up teens that are technically allowed on Snapchat.

Wow, gay.

The only one who needs to apologize here is the one who left that disgusting white pixelated border on that GIF. Yuck! Talk about amateur work.

The GIF includes disturbing text including a racial slur, which TechCrunch has blurred out below. It reads “N—– Crime Death Counter – Keep Cranking Bonzo, the Numbers Just Keep on Climbing!”

In the past month, Snapchat has been working as hard as possible to alienate their own core audience – young people. And let me tell you – young people don’t give one flying fuck about racist memes.

The youth care about two things, and two things only: their streaks, and GIFs. And now you’ve taken those things away.

This is not a sustainable business model.
