Glen Greenwald is a journalist who does good work on some issue of concern to us. His article below on Facebook and the Israeli government teaming up to censor Facebook posts is worth reading. But, as a “progressive Jew,” he is somewhat myopic regarding the scope of the problem of the Jewish-owned Facebook social media giant teaming up with the Jewish state. His article focuses on the impact on Palestinians and their supporters overseas, which is no doubt a very large concern.
Glenn Greenwald for The Intercept:
Last week, a major censorship controversy erupted when Facebook began deleting all posts containing the iconic photograph of the Vietnamese “Napalm Girl” on the ground that it violated the company’s ban on “child nudity.” Facebook even deleted a post from the prime minister of Norway, who posted the photograph in protest of the censorship. As outrage spread, Facebook ultimately reversed itself — acknowledging “the history and global importance of this image in documenting a particular moment in time” — but this episode illustrated many of the dangers I’ve previously highlighted in having private tech companies like Facebook, Twitter, and Google become the arbiters of what we can and cannot see.Having just resolved that censorship effort, Facebook seems to be vigorously courting another. The Associated Press reports today from Jerusalem that “the Israeli government and Facebook have agreed to work together to determine how to tackle incitement on the social media network.” These meetings are taking place “as the government pushes ahead with legislative steps meant to force social networks to rein in content that Israel says incites violence.” In other words, Israel is about to legislatively force Facebook to censor content deemed by Israeli officials to be improper, and Facebook appears eager to appease those threats by working directly with the Israeli government to determine what content should be censored.
The joint Facebook-Israel censorship efforts, needless to say, will be directed at Arabs, Muslims, and Palestinians who oppose Israeli occupation. The AP article makes that clear: “Israel has argued that a wave of violence with the Palestinians over the past year has been fueled by incitement, much of it spread on social media sites.” As Alex Kane reported in The Intercept in June, Israel has begun actively surveilling Palestinians for the content of their Facebook posts and even arresting some for clear political speech. Israel’s obsession with controlling Palestinians’ use of social media is motivated by the way it has enabled political organizing by occupation opponents; as Kane wrote: “A demonstration against the Israeli occupation can be organized in a matter of hours, while the monitoring of Palestinians is made easier by the large digital footprint they leave on their laptops and mobile phones.”
But of course, the Israeli government has an interest in censoring a lot more than just pro-Palestinian posts. How about people talking about the Israeli attack on the USS Liberty? How about people complaining about Israeli domination of US foreign policy? How about unleashing the tens of thousands of paid Israeli hasbara agents to censor anyone pointing out the “wildly out of proportion” Jewish influence in Western media, academia, finance, politics, etc.?
Glen Greenwald either wants to divert our attention to the narrow focus of Israel, or assumes that we will connect the dots on our own and needs to make sure he doesn’t get shut down by Zionist censorship. Either way, we are left with the question: what are we going to do about this, goys?
I propose we start doing our best to abandon Facebook and other Jewish-owned or run businesses. Obviously, it cannot be done all at once. Sometimes there is little or no alternative. But it is not as if Jews invented these businesses. In many cases, they simply copied what was already out there, utilized their access to finance and nepotism, and took over. Before Facebook there was the goyim-created MySpace. Before Google, the go-to internet search engine was Yahoo, created by a white and a Chinese.
David Filo & Jerry Yang, Yahoo! Founders.
Ideally, we could find white-run alternatives, but even then so many of our white business giants like Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos are pretty susceptible to Jewish pressure. Another way would be to utilize existing alternatives from countries not dominated by Jews. China has alternatives for everything. Russia and India might also offer good prospects.
I don’t really have specific alternatives to offer at this point, but I think if we put our minds to it we can find something. This site has a list of Chinese alternatives to Facebook. In particular, WeChat looks kind of promising, although you might have to download some software. It seems to offer ways of making and accepting money payments, which is actually an even more pressing need for our movement as we attempt to build a professional media. Remember, we need alternatives not just to Facebook, but also to Google and financial firms like Paypal.
So let’s start looking into this. Perhaps we could start forming networks on WeChat to coordinate Free Speech demonstrations. If enough of us get going on it, maybe it could provide that reliable money settlement venue that David Duke, Stormfront and Daily Stormer so desperately need. For those of you thinking “we would just be trading Jewish overlords for Chinese overlords,” I can guarantee that can never happen. The Jews can rule over us only because they look hu-white to Jared Taylor.
