A lot of people on the Alt-Right are just like “meh, they can hack everything.”
In actual fact “they” can, but the “they” is necessary to define.
Groups that can see anything:
- CIA
- Mossad
- FSB
- Whatever the Chinese intelligence service is called
- People who pay a private Israeli company to hack your phone
And none of that is law enforcement, none of it can be entered in a court.

Federal agents failed to hack into 6,900 mobile devices protected by encryption, the FBI director told a police chiefs’ conference, amid heated debate over privacy and government control over cyberspace.
The FBI was unable to retrieve content from more than 6,900 mobile devices, agency director Christopher Wray said on Monday at the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference in Philadelphia. This is more than half of the mobile devices the FBI tried to access in less than a year.
“To put it mildly, this is a huge, huge problem,” Wray said. “It impacts investigations across the board — narcotics, human trafficking, counterterrorism, counterintelligence, gangs, organized crime, child exploitation.”
When the Feds eventually hacked the San Bernadino phone, everyone was like “huh.” They later admitted they just paid the Israelis to do it.
If you’re following the rules, you’re not doing anything illegal anyway. However, that doesn’t mean you don’t want to keep what you are doing private. And if you get arrested for some fake thing, you definitely want your phone safe.
I say to go with “The Cocksucker” AKA “The Boylover” AKA the iPhone for that.
It is still the best on security.
Good news is, the phones all get the security updates, so you don’t need a new one. The 8 is the same thing as the 7 is the same thing as the 6. And the latter is only $300ish, closer to $200 if you get the certified refurbished one.
As far as messaging apps – don’t use WhatsApp. It’s owned by Facebook and is not well-encrypted.
Signal is the best.
But Telegram – which I recently reviewed – has more features, with a better desktop version, and better group chats/calls. I actually prefer it to Skype.
Also, don’t use Skype – that isn’t even encrypted, messages are all stored on their database.
Furthermore, I’m not sure that Discord isn’t in fact selling people’s information to Antifa and the cops. It says in their ToS they can sell messages.
Lots of people having Discord chat leaks these days.
Lots and lots.
Stop using it.
Telegram is the same thing, and it’s safe. Okay, I get that people do podcasts on Discord and Skype – okay. That doesn’t mean you have to use it as your regular chat app.
I’m also not sure that Telegram can’t do the same connection as those apps anyway, to be honest. The podpeople might want to try that.
