The FBI has captured one of the suspects on its national Top 10 Most Wanted list, a fugitive facing charges of attempted murder, attempted kidnapping, assault and bank robbery.
Officers in the agency’s Denver division said a SWAT team took Myloh Jaqory Mason, 25, into custody without incident early Friday evening at a Motel 6 in Thornton, Colorado, north of Denver.
Agents evacuated the motel’s guests and were “prepared to be there for a while” because they believed that Mason was armed and dangerous, the FBI Denver office’s Deborah Sherman told the Daily News.
However, the suspect came out with his hands up, and it was not immediately clear if he had any weapons in his room.
The alleged crook was placed on the feds’ most wanted list after two robberies in September and November of last year, the first of which saw him and two other men rob a bank in the area while wearing masks from the movie Scream.
Mason’s ascent to the list came because of the violence of his alleged crimes, according to the Sherman, who said that those on it “meet a very high threshold.”
In the second heist Mason and his accomplices allegedly robbed another bank, broke into a house, shot the man inside four times, took his minivan.
The trio then supposedly crashed the van and shot a woman while trying to take her car, though neither of those shot died of their wounds.
Tyrone Richardson, 31, and Miguel Sanders, 28, were arrested in November, according to KDVR.
It was not immediately known how long Mason had been staying at the motel, though investigators believed at one point that he was out of state.
