The U.S. attorney’s office has opened a civil rights investigation into allegations of harassment of Jewish children in the Pine Bush Central School District. The government says it will be investigating whether the school system, its Board of Education or employees “have discriminated against students on the basis of national origin and religion.”
Three Jewish families have filed lawsuits against Pine Bush schools saying their kids were subjected to beatings and anti-Semitic harassment.
The federal government is joining the state police and New York attorney general, who are also are looking into the claims.
