The Wakandan Handball League held their annual All-Star game over the weekend. Normally, this would not be worth comment except for the terrible national anthem performance by Fergie that occurred before the game.
Fergie says she is “proud” of her national anthem performance at the NBA All-Star game, despite the overwhelming backlash she’s received on social media.
The former “Black Eyed Peas” singer faced the music Monday and released a statement — defending her bizarre rendition of the “Star-Spangled Banner” — after it was mocked by both fans and players on Sunday night.
“I’ve always been honored and proud to perform the national anthem and last night I wanted to try something special for the NBA,” Fergie told the Hollywood Reporter.
“I’m a risk taker artistically, but clearly this rendition didn’t strike the intended tone,” she said. “I love this country and honestly tried my best.”
The performance was truly awful and deserving of the backlash it got on social media. It sounded like she was trying to perform some bizarre Wakandan version of the song. It was so bad that even some of the Wakandan handball players laughed as she performed it.

But quite honestly, how difficult is it to just perform the song as it is meant to be sung? It feels as if these so-called “artists” who get creative with singing the national anthem are doing it to mock both the song and America itself.
Fergie might not have intended to be disrespectful, but the national anthem is not a song you are supposed to get creative with. It isn’t a “Black Eyed Peas” song that’s littered with nigger beats and retarded gibberish. It is the national anthem of the country and it should be performed with the dignity and respect that it deserves.
Mocking the national anthem this way is nothing new though. The fat Jewess Roseanne Barr made national news back in 1990 after she screeched through the national anthem at a San Diego Padres baseball game. Upon getting booed by much of the crowd she grabbed her vagina and spit on the ground. It was a horribly disgusting performance that offended many.
The fact that we are even having cultural discussions like this is proof of the societal decay that exists at the heart of American society. All cultural normalcy has long since been destroyed and replaced with unlimited amounts of degeneracy and weirdness.
