The Washington Monument, Capitol Building, and Empire State Building were all struck by lightning on New Year’s Eve.

That tweet does not include the One World Trade Center, which was also hit.
Is this a sign from God or do these buildings just get hit by lightning constantly?
One would have to assume that the tallest buildings in any city get hit with lightning pretty regularly.
I just looked it up and the WTC memorial building is hit an average of 26 times per year, while the Empire State Building is hit 25 times per year. But the Washington Monument is only hit 1-4 times per year, apparently, and you would think the Capitol is struck fewer times than that.
You can do some rough math in your head. Of course, these buildings are relatively close to one another, so the fact that the area was stormy definitely affects the odds of them all being hit on the same day.
It’s still relatively improbable.
It seems more likely to be some kind of omen.
