An armed supermarket hostage-taker who claimed allegiance to Islamic State has been shot dead by police after killing three people in attacks in southern France that are being treated as terrorism.
The gunman – named as 26-year-old Redouane Lakdim, a petty criminal of Moroccan origin – held up a car in Carcassonne on Friday morning and killed the driver, before opening fire on police and taking hostages in a supermarket in nearby Trebes.
The hostage-taker, who was killed in a police assault after around four hours, reportedly shouted Allahu Akbar as he burst into the Super U store. He is said to have demanded the release of Salah Abdeslam, the prime suspect in the 2015 Paris attacks.
Imagine that kind of loyalty to your people.

It’s been so long since a happening. The reason for this is simple. Europe has been hit with arctic storms this winter, sent by the Hyperborean gods themselves to remind people of their heritage as people of the north, the cold and the snow.
This kept the muzzies in check as they huddled around the warmth emanating from their shawarma grills.
Now that the thaw is here though, looks like terror is back on the menu, boys.
There’s a hostage situation at the supermarket in the town of Trebes in the south of France.

A gunman is believed to have killed at least one person during a hostage-taking at a supermarket in Trèbes, southern France.
Elite police have rushed to the Super U shop, and there are unconfirmed reports of another death.
A prosecutor says the gunman, who remains in the supermarket, claims to be in the Islamic State group.
Earlier, a policeman was shot and wounded while jogging with colleagues in Carcassonne, a 15-minute drive away,
He was not critically injured. It is unclear if the incidents are connected though media reports suggest they are.
A security source told French news agency AFP that most employees and customers at the supermarket “managed to flee”.
Prime Minister Édouard Philippe said the situation was “serious” and that all signs pointed towards a “terrorist act”.
Will this be the event that sets off the Spring of Terror?
Hard to say but probably. Every consecutive year they get more aggressive.
Although with ISIS having been shut down and the various increases in security, they might not manage to pull off any big bomb-oriented ones, and we’ll just see these shit-tier attacks such as this one on a super-market.
Furthermore, the Muslim community has its own internal splits within it. To put it into easily understandable terms, you have the faction that advocates violent uprising and terror attacks to violently overthrow the Crusader governments NOW.
And then you have the faction of moderates that advocates waiting fifteen more years until victory is assured through demographics and government infiltration.
The more organized terror attacks are being pulled off by the radical faction – but the moderates are trying to restrain these guys from doing these attacks. They’re afraid that the Crusaders might wake up.
Depending on what we see this spring and summer, we’ll know which faction has won out.
