UPDATE II:

Welp.

There goes that.

NBC News:

Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen will face one another in the final round of the French presidential election on May 7, according to exit polls released at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Centrist Emmanuel Macron of the independent En Marche party secured the lion’s share of votes in Sunday’s preliminary election at 23.7 percent, with the far-right’s Marine Le Pen of France’s National Front party trailing narrowly behind at 21.7 percent, according to Harris poll estimates. Official results are only due in the next couple of days.

If these numbers are right – and maybe they aren’t, I have no idea, but I don’t really see why they wouldn’t be – it’s already over.

If she can’t even win the first round – the day after a terrorist attack – there is virtually no chance in hell she can win the second round.

No. No, in fact, it does not.

I’m officially done with all of this crap.

Anyone who is not talking about Jews is useless.

And voting is nonsensical. If people will vote to be murdered in the streets by Moslems, then voting needs to be abolished as a concept.

We can sit here and ask some questions:

  • If she had been anti-Jew, would she have done better?
  • If she had been generally more aggressive against Moslems, would she have done better?
  • If she hadn’t been a flip-flopper, would she have done better?
  • If she hadn’t been a woman, would she have done better?

The answer to all those questions may well be “yes” – I don’t know and neither does anyone else.

But as we have seen with Trump, it doesn’t even matter. Even if Le Pen had won, she probably wouldn’t even have done Frexit, let alone anything else that mattered.

There is a force more powerful than elected politicians that controls the Western world. An evil force. With a hooked-nose.

We need to start forming our own governments, within our countries. That is the only way forward at this point. We don’t have any choice.

UPDATE I:

Exit polls apparently are showing Macron above Fillon – and even above Le Pen (which was not expected).

It’s a Belgian news agency reporting this, because it is illegal for the French media to report it until after polls close. So who knows how much it’s worth.

Sputnik:

An exit poll carried out by Belgian RTBF channel shows that independent candidate Emmanuel Macron is leading with 24 percent of votes, while far-right leader Marine Le Pen gained 22 percent.

According to the RTBF exit poll, The Republicans’ candidate Francois Fillon gained 20.5 percent of votes, whil 18 percent of French voters chose left-wing Jean-Luc Melenchon.

French media are prohibited by the law from publishing any preliminary results until the last polling stations are closed. First results from the French Interior Ministry may appear after 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. Paris time (17:00 or 18:00 GMT).

Another Belgian agency, La Libre, got a late poll last night showing a different result – Le Pen leading, Fillon in second, Macron third:

Last night, LaLibre.be unveiled the figures of the latest poll conducted at the request of a candidate’s team at a well-known polling institute after the attack on the Champs-Elysees…

Marine Le Pen would be leading with 26%. François Fillon would be slightly ahead of Emmanuel Macron with 22%, against 21% for the former Minister of Economy of François Hollande. The two candidates, however, remain within the margin of error, as in other polls published this week.

Again – it doesn’t mean much.

the numbers are going to be very close.

Some recent polls showed that although Macron was polling more favorably than Fillon among the general population, Fillon was polling better among people who were for sure to go vote (old people, I assume, who aren’t as aware of all Fillon’s scandals).

Again, we want Fillon to beat Macron, as Le Pen has a much better chance of beating Fillon than she does of beating Macron.

Original article follows.

Today is the first round of the French election.

Le Pen has basically a 100% chance of winning, so that isn’t the suspenseful angle here.

The suspenseful angle is whether or not Macron or Fillon makes second place.

Because she has a lot better chance of beating Fillon in the second round than she does beating Macron.

After the latest terrorist attack, I guess there’s some chance Le Pen could win an absolute majority… but that’s like, less than a 1% chance. Very, very unlikely.

We’ll have updates as they come in.

Right now, let’s check out the perception of the Jews:

Remember that Le Pen actually tried to reach out to the Jews?

Can you imagine anything that stupid?

French readers – please leave your informations about your polling experience in the comments. Also, anyone can post whatever news in the comments.

We will have exit polls and so on as they come in, of course, and we’ll be up all night to give you the final results.

Here’s a French news livestream in English.
