Diversity Macht Frei

Five years ago, I wrote about the occupation of the Poitiers mosque site by Generation Identity. (link) They called for a referendum on the construction of the mosque and on immigration.
About 70 people participated, but only the five alleged organisers (“the Poitiers 5”) were charged in connection with the incident following a complaint brought by the main Islamic organisation in France, the UOIF (Union des Organisations Islamiques de France), the French branch of the Muslim brotherhood.
It’s strange that it has taken more than five years for the case to reach a resolution. But the sentence has now come: 1 year in prison, suspended, plus a 40,000 euro fine.
They’re going to appeal, but if you want to make a donation to help defray their costs you can do it here:
The page is in French but Google Translate should get you through it.
