Lawmaker Eleni Zaroulia, wife of Greece’s jailed far-right leader, has been placed under temporary house arrest until judges decide whether to detain her pending trial for allegedly running a criminal organization.
Judges disagreed Wednesday whether Eleni Zaroulia, who denies the charges, should be freed or jailed. A judicial council will rule on the matter within five days.
Zaroulia’s husband, Nikos Michaloliakos, leads the Nazi-inspired Golden Dawn party — once marginal but now Greece’s third most popular.
