Google’s “doodle” for Veteran’s Day showed a White woman, a Black man, a Mexican man and a Black woman in the front row, with a single White male in the background raising his arm as if he’s drowning.
This may be a close-to-accurate portrayal of the current state of the Obama military, but it isn’t an accurate portrayal of the VFW’s who we are meant to be honoring on Veteran’s Day. These people, like all people who ever did anything that mattered in history, were overwhelmingly both White and male.
