Steve King gave comment. We like Steve King.

Breitbart:

The House GOP leadership will push a new amnesty bill today that does not set upper limits on an amnesty or even cut migration levels but which does exclude reforms found in Rep. Bob Goodlatte’s immigration reform bill, sources tell Breitbart News.

In November, if House Speaker Paul Ryan gets his way, most GOP legislators “will be on record in support of amnesty,” Iowa Rep. Steve King told Breitbart News. “It is not going to help us in November” if there is a vote in the House on amnesty, King said.

They’re saying this is a Paul Ryan plot.

And he’s retiring.

So what does he care? In fact, he appears to be trying to burn down the house on the way out.

Look.

Republicans are going to keep pushing for amnesty, because that’s what their donors want.

But the better Trump does, the less power they have to do that.

And the November elections are a referendum on Trump.

If the GOP does well in the elections, Trump will have more power and thus Republicans will have less power.

Winning is losing for the larger whole of the party.

Ryan himself is pushing for something after he’s retired. Same thing with Trey Gowdy, who’s decided to push the Russia hoax before dipping out.
