Sharman Odom didn’t answer any questions as police took him to jail Saturday, but he had a smile on his face the whole time.
He’s accused of killing Maggie Daniels. Her body was found in her apartment five weeks ago.
Police still aren’t saying how she died. Odom lived near her, in the same complex in apartment 52.
Police served three search warrants a week ago.Surveillance video shows them moving in.
Sources tell WBTV DNA results from that search led to the arrest of Odom, who apparently skipped town last night when police went after him.
He was taken into custody in Winston-Salem. Odom is expected in court on Monday for a first appearance before a judge.
The body of Maggie Daniels was found in her Apartment on June 28th. The cause of death has not been released.
Authorities say Odom was identified as a suspect after an intensive investigation where investigators interviewed more than a hundred people and sent dozens of items to the state lab for analysis.
