I have no idea how this is supposed to help the Democrats, who are attempting to maneuver through a crisis in #Kneelgate.
One would almost have to assume that it isn’t at all intended to help the Democrats, and is in fact simply meant to inflame the situation further, on purpose.
Does that then mean that Hillary is /ourgal/?
Hillary Clinton on Sunday defended NFL players who knelt during the national anthem, saying kneeling is a “reverent” position that is not against “our anthem or our flag.”
The former Democratic presidential candidate, who was at the Southbank Centre’s London Literature Festival, urged Democrats to use the issue against President Trump.
Clinton was embarking on a foreign trip to promote her book “What Happened.”
She said people should resist “what are very clear dog-whistles” to the Trump base, pointing to the example of kneeling NFL players.
“That’s what black athletes kneeling was all about,” she said in response to a question about ways to resist the White House. ”That’s not against our anthem or our flag.”
“Actually, kneeling is a reverent position,” she continued. “It was to demonstrate in a peaceful way against racism and injustice in our criminal system.”
Clinton urged the Democratic Party to continue to “resist” the president, saying “I think it would be a grave error for Democrats to recede from those fights, so therefore we have to stand up, fight back, resist.”
This is exactly what they do not want to do. This is the worst possible fight that the Democrats can be in right now, as whatever stupid bit of Jewspeak you come up with – “kneeling is reverence” – the action by the Negroid sportsballers was clearly intended to attack the American flag. Barack Obama actually went and met Colin Kaepernick and was like “yo dawg, you gotta tone that shit down.”
The entire party is backing down from this now, with the media.
Because they know that it is too soon to embrace a full on “destroy America” platform. Presumably, they got tricked by Trump into doing this and then realized what the response was and so have attempted to walk backwards.
And just as they’re doing that – successfully, they’ve been putting this fire out – she comes along like “HEY NICE FIRE LOOKS LIKE IT NEEDS SOME GASOLINE.”
Also in this same speech – which was hosted by The Guardian – she compared the “Russian hacking” (conspiracy theory) to 9/11.
That is also extremely inflammatory. I don’t care about offensive statements – whatever – but a lot of people would think that comparing an event which changed the face of the country and in which 3,000 people died with an unfounded theory about Russia releasing emails (and thus showing the true nature of Hillary Clinton to the people she wanted to vote for her based on a manufactured image) to be somewhat insensitive.
If I was her, strategically trying to sabotage the Democrat party, I would make sure that my NFL statement was attached to other inflammatory statements for the purpose of making sure it was heard and heard in the worst possible light.
