A growing number of Danish kindergartens forbids pork in the food. In some communities is not only a total ban, they also require that other meat to be halal.
In all, some 30 preschools across the country stopped serving kids pork, writes Ekstra Bladet.
Many preschool directors justifying the decision to not want to favor some children. But matsociologen Jon Fuglsang believes that prohibition is the wrong way to show respect to.
You should be able to work with differentiated menus and not banish certain foods, he says.
