Dennis Wayne Williams was shot and killed by Black thugs who were trying to rob his White neighbor.

Police now have four suspects in custody in connection with the murder of a man police called an “innocent bystander.”

Dominiq Marquan Deloach, 18, of High Point, Dontrelle Lamont Jenkins, 18, of High Point, and two juveniles are in custody charged with homicide.

Deloach and Jenkins are also charged with robbery with a firearm and first-degree burglary. Deloach is additionally charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.

Police found Dennis Wayne Williams, 57, in a home at 1611 N. Hamilton St. with a gunshot wound Wednesday night.

Just look at this misshaped lump of a creature. Dontrelle Lamont Jenkins has been arrested for the killing.

Nancy Kester, 58, the widow of Williams, said she and her husband were sitting in their living room when a friend and neighbor, Michael Scott Moore, 34, started banging on their door and yelling for help.

“Michael just pushed himself in and said, ‘They’re robbing my house!’,” Kester said.

Kester said Williams let Moore inside, and then shots were fired from outside Williams’ home by the suspects.

“It just lit up my whole house,” Kester said. “Lit up my whole house with gunfire. And all we were doing was watching TV.”

One bullet hit Williams and he later died at High Point Regional Hospital.

Dominiq Marquan Deloach also took part in the robbery that turned into a murder.

Kester is devastated that her husband, whom she met 32 years ago, was taken so suddenly.

“He was my true love,” Kester said. “He was my once in a lifetime love. I just keep thinking he’s going to come through the door. He’s going to peer around the corner. But he’s not.”

Police later searched Moore’s home at 1606 North Hamilton Street and found evidence suggesting that Moore was a marijuana dealer. He was put in jail with a $100,000 bond.

It is unclear if the two juveniles will be charged as adults.

Kester said she will be at every court date the suspects have.

“They didn’t just kill him,” Kester said. “They killed a piece of my heart. And I’ve got nobody to grow old with now.”
