A man and a woman from Prairieville, LA have been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals after reports that they hosed down a dog and continuously beat it with a baseball bat.
It happened Monday, June 16. Deputies were called to a home in the 41000 block of Merritt Evans Road in Prairieville. Several witnesses say 31-year-old Jamari Jackson beat a pit bull dog with a baseball bat, and Jackson’s girlfriend, 25-year-old Sammi Corley, was seen hosing the dog down with water while Jackson continuously beat the dog.
The dog was taken to a local animal hospital where it later died as a result of it’s injuries.
Both Jackson and Corley were arrested and charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.
They were booked into the Ascension Parish Jail where they were released on bond.
