UPDATE:
I told you: people leaving is the only thing the news ever leaks that’s believable.
President Trump on Saturday said that White House Chief of Staff John Kelly will leave his position at the end of the year — after swirling rumors that Kelly’s 17 month-long tenure in the Trump administration was nearing its end.
Trump spoke to reporters outside the White House, called Kelly a “great guy” and said his replacement will be announced in the next few days.
“John Kelly will be leaving at the end of the year, we will be announcing who will be taking John’s place, it might be on an interim basis, I’ll be announcing that over the next day or two,” he said.
“I appreciate his service very much,” he added.

The media usually tends to be right when they claim someone is leaving office.
John Kelly was on my list.
President Trump on Friday accelerated a long-anticipated shake-up of his Cabinet in the wake of the midterm elections, naming new picks for attorney general and UN ambassador amid widespread speculation that the embattled White House chief of staff John Kelly could soon depart.
Trump confirmed his choices of William Barr to lead the Justice Department and Heather Nauert for the United Nations post as he left the White House, speaking to reporters over the din of whirring blades from Marine One.
If confirmed by the Senate, Barr will take over for the acting attorney general, Matthew Whitaker. An unfettered Trump installed him in place of the ousted Jeff Sessions less than 24 hours after the polls closed on Nov. 6 in the first move of an expected overhaul of Cabinet secretaries and senior White House aides.
After a CNN report Friday morning that Kelly could be stepping down in a matter of days, Trump did not pause long enough to take questions from reporters, though he teased he would make another big personnel announcement Saturday at the Army-Navy game in Philadelphia.
I am tired of all of this now. None of these people are good.
But please, Mattis is the one that needs to go. That mad dog is really off the leash, trying to start a world war with Russia, trying also for some reason to do regime change in Venezuela.
Stopping him is an actually good thing, rather than just shuffling around assholes.
In other John Kelly news, there are a bunch of headlines about how Mueller questioned him.
Mueller questioned everyone, so I don’t get why this matters. But none of this shit matters and they pretend it all does before it turns out that it doesn’t.
The neverending story.
