Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman has resigned his post, angry at the Jewish government’s agreement to halt military operations inside of Gaza. There could be a variety of political consequences stemming from this.
The Israelis are looking even weaker on the world stage. Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman has resigned after the Jewish government accepted a Gaza ceasefire deal with the Palestinians. His resignation could spark his party leaving the coalition government and potentially lead to a new election.

Israel’s defence minister has resigned over the cabinet’s decision to accept a ceasefire ending two days of fighting with Palestinian militants in Gaza.
Avigdor Lieberman denounced the move as “surrendering to terror”.
He also said his Yisrael Beiteinu party would leave the governing coalition, which could lead to an early election.
Eight people were killed on Monday and Tuesday as militants fired 460 rockets towards Israel and Israeli forces bombed 160 targets in Gaza.
The ceasefire was largely holding on Wednesday and schools and businesses in southern Israel reopened after no rocket attacks were reported overnight.
Tensions between the Jews and Palestinians were actually starting to settle down a bit but were agitated by the Jews following a botched special forces operation inside of Gaza. This led to a series of rocket attacks by the Palestinians and retaliatory air strikes by the Jews.
The fact that the Jews agreed to a ceasefire so quickly after such a provocative act is yet another sign of their geopolitical weakness.
Ever since the Russians announced that they were deploying their S-300 anti-aircraft defense system inside of Syria, the Jews have halted conducting military campaigns inside the country. All we’ve seen from them is talk. There’s been no action.
The Syrian military has said that the S-300 system has greatly minimized the Israeli’s ability to hit targets in Syria.
Between their inability to freely operate inside of Syria and this latest embarrassment, we could finally see some domestic consequences for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He’s already been mired in a domestic corruption scandal and with Lieberman resigning, a new election could potentially see the Jews electing a more left-leaning government.
Of course, we don’t know exactly what’s going to happen moving forward. There’s still the possibility that Netanyahu could avoid a new election getting called. But the one thing that’s certain is that Israel is having some real problems. They don’t seem to have any real coherent geopolitical strategy and have put themselves in an increasingly tighter box with their stupid military misadventures.
