AREZZO, 19 June – Protest demonstrations this morning from around 50 migrants, some Christian and some Muslim, in front of the local government office in Arezzo.
In particular Muslim migrants protested because, according to them, the food is served before sunset and not afterwards as required by Ramadan, which is currently underway. The young men, all of African origin, voiced their discontent for a number of reasons also related to food which was not to the liking of the majority of them, this giving rise to a spontaneous sit-in.
