Looks like it’s time to wrap things up, old chap.
While the establishment probably thought that the Michael Flynn charges would turn the tides on the Trump administration, it seems that the revelations surrounding the case have had the opposite effect. The fact that Flynn was shilling for Israel instead of Russia, and that one of the top guys on the investigation was a hardcore Hillary supporter, has put everything else in doubt.
While it was obvious all along that this whole thing was a naked political witch-hunt aimed at undermining Trump’s credibility, now the hypocrisy and corruption is so blatant that even mainstream media outlets are being forced to recognize it.
So Peter Strzok wasn’t just a top investigator for special counsel Robert Mueller until he was axed for anti-Trump and pro-Clinton bias: He was also a major player in the Hillary email probe and the FBI work that led to the “collusion” investigation.
And Mueller and the FBI both dragged their feet on sharing key info about all this with Congress.
Including the news that Strzok was the one who changed then-FBI chief Jim Comey’s draft language on Clinton’s use of that private server from “grossly negligent” to “extremely careless” in the final version. That’s huge, because the statute specifies that gross negligence in the handling of classified info is itself a crime, whatever the intent — though Comey declared that Clinton shouldn’t face prosecution precisely because she had no “intent” to break the law.
Strzok also conducted the FBI interviews of Clinton and her top aides, Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin, in the email probe.
More, he was reportedly one of the major FBI figures urging investigations on the basis of the “Steele dossier” of Russian-sourced scurrilous anti-Trump allegations, which we now know was commissioned by the Clinton campaign.
More, he signed the documents that opened the ensuing “collusion” probe. And he led the FBI interview of Gen. Mike Flynn, in which Flynn told the lies that eventually forced him out as Trump’s national security adviser, and for which he’s now pleaded guilty in a deal with Mueller.
Meanwhile, Mills and Abedin’s testimony in their interviews has been shown false in one major regard: Contrary to their denials, each had been well aware of Clinton’s private server — they had to deal with the office fallout whenever it went down. Unlike Flynn, though, they never faced charges for lying to federal investigators.
In other words, he’s a complete shill. And the charges brought against Flynn could be levied against members of the Clinton circle, but aren’t – obviously for political reasons.
And this is being “noticed” by a lot of people.
It’s almost like there’s different standards of justice for the Trump administration…
The FBI agent who was fired from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation team for sending anti-Donald Trump text messages conducted the interviews with two Hillary Clinton aides accused of giving false statements about what they knew of the former secretary of state’s private email server.
Neither of the Clinton associates, Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin, faced legal consequences for their misleading statements, which they made in interviews last year with former FBI section chief Peter Strzok.
But another Strzok interview subject was not so lucky.
Michael Flynn, the former national security adviser, pleaded guilty last week to lying during an interview he gave on Jan. 24 to Strzok and another FBI agent. Circa journalist Sara Carter reported on Monday that Strzok took part in that interview with the retired lieutenant general.
This whole scam is quickly becoming untenable.
After nearly a year of investigation, they’ve turned up nothing. Instead, they’ve only managed to expose their own corruption and bias. Trump, by this point, would be fully justified in just shutting it down as a subversive plot to undermine the proper functioning of the government.
The people will be on his side.
