Personally, I think people should be allowed to say whatever they want on social media, as long as it doesn’t violate the First Amendment (really the only speech that does is imminent threats). The fact is, these three main companies – Twitter, Facebook and YouTube – are natural monopolies, and so should be barred by the government from regulating speech.
However, because the government refuses to intervene, the best we can hope for is that we receive equal treatment under the ToS of these websites which ban “hate speech.”
But as @RightWingDiva2 recently discovered, we don’t get that, even in the most clearcut situations.
She submitted a “hate speech” report on a Facebook page entitled “Mexican Pride: Kill All White People.”
The report was reviewed, and it was determined by Facebook that this page does not constitute a violation of the “hate speech” policy in their ToS.
The page was later removed – but not on the grounds of “hate speech.” Instead, it was taken down when someone claimed it presented a “credible threat of violence.”
(Technically this isn’t a credible threat, it is just a call for genocide, which is legal in the United States.)
Of course, all of the people who deal with these reports are in third world countries, mostly India. They have a program they’ve been given, which they follow. What this demonstrates is that they have been told that “hate speech” can only be from Whites against non-Whites. As such, if a non-White page is reported as “hate speech,” they are told to ignore it.
Let’s Test It Further!
I would like to encourage people to engage in a little experiment (as I myself don’t have the time, and it would be better to have more than one person doing it anyway): create multiple Facebook pages with the same name and message, but with the word “White” used for one and “Jew” for the other.
For example:
“White People are a Cancer”/”Jews are a Cancer”
“White People are Destroying the Earth”/”Jews are Destroying the Earth”
“America Should be Wiped Off the Map”/”Israel Should be Wiped Off the Map”
“White People are Evil”/”Jews are Evil”
etc.
After creating the pages, take screenshots, then use a different account to report both for “hate speech.” After you’ve reported them, take screenshots of the responses, then send them to me and I’ll write it up.
Because I believe that it is a fact that Facebook is literally giving these Indians documentation which says “hate speech = White people.”
I do hope that a lot of you will participate in this project, as the more tests we get, the more proof we will have that it is Facebook’s official policy that their “hate speech” clause is only for White people.
