You could definitely shove kilos of fentanyl through those artistically designed fentanyl slots.
I hate John Kelly as much as anyone.
But yeah.
If I were to run into artistically designed steel slats, outside of this context – such as surrounding a junkyard, or wherever you might see this structure – I would call this structure a fence.
The Democrats, are saying loud and clear that they do not want to build a Concrete Wall – but we are not building a Concrete Wall, we are building artistically designed steel slats, so that you can easily see through it….

Just look at this picture.
The brown part is the artistically designed steel slats-based structure. And the freeway barrier is an actual wall.
No one can cross that highway barrier, which is solid concrete and has barb wire on the top of it. But no one has to. Once Paco gets across the artistically designed steel slats, he’s home free.
All that having been said… I am okay with people calling artistically designed steel slats a “wall” if that’s what it takes to get ANY KIND of physical border built on the US-Mexico border.
I would rather not have this discussion.
White House chief of staff John Kelly, who is set to leave the Trump administration within days, flatly asserted in remarks published Sunday that the president’s proposed border project “is not a wall” and that all plans for a concrete wall were abandoned long ago — directly contradicting the White House’s repeated claims.
In a series of Twitter posts earlier this month, Trump insisted that “we are not building a Concrete Wall, we are building artistically designed steel slats, so that you can easily see through it.” But Kelly’s comments were seemingly at odds with the president’s tweet on Friday calling for “money to finish the Wall,” as well as his promises during and after the 2016 presidential campaign.
It’s money to finish the artistically designed steel slats.
Just shut the fuck up, John.
The relationship between Trump and Kelly has reportedly deteriorated in recent months. Trump announced in early December that the retired four-star Marine general would soon “move on” despite previously suggesting he would remain in the post through 2020.
“To be honest, it’s not a wall,” Kelly said in an interview with The Los Angeles Times. “The president still says ‘wall’ — oftentimes frankly he’ll say ‘barrier’ or ‘fencing,’ now he’s tended toward steel slats. But we left a solid concrete wall early on in the administration, when we asked people what they needed and where they needed it.”
Within hours, the White House pushed back on Kelly’s comments by highlighting Trump’s earlier tweets on the topic.
“I think many people who don’t want to fess up to border security and get Congress to do its job and close the loopholes insist it’s a wall, wall, wall,” Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway told CNN Sunday. “The president has said, he said last week, and he tweeted out pictures of steel slats. Things are already happening in California in terms of that.”
She added: “It really depends on what Customs and Border Patrol says they need. And they have said they need barriers. The president says a wall — barriers, the president says they need steel slats. They need technological enhancements.”
But, reacting to the news that a second migrant child died this month while in the custody of U.S. officials, Trump seemingly suggested that Border Patrol agents do, in fact, want a wall.
Yeah, yeah.
Okay.
Whatever.
We all want a wall, no one wants artistically designed steel slats, however, it looks like the latter is what we are going to get, and that just is what it is.
And though my instinct is to tell John Kelly to STFU, it would have been nice if conservatives were pushing back against this and demanding Trump give them a real Jew-style solid concrete wall with barb wire on top.
But we’ve all been too busy defending Trump from his enemies who are trying to destroy him to be able to put pressure on him directly.
I don’t know if this was right or wrong or what it was.
I would have preferred a wall, but now it is going to be a miracle if we get artistically designed steel slats through before 2020 (where I suspect, the way things are right now, we will again get a Republican House, but who knows).
So I think we should be fighting for these artistically designed steel slats, which are technically not a wall, but which are much better than nothing.
In other news, I guess John Kelly is really mad about getting fired.
He was always a loser and never should have been brought in in the first place. He is not saying this isn’t a wall because he wants a real wall, he is saying it isn’t a wall to attack President Trump.
