This fake news story appeared on satirical French website Le Gorafi, which is similar to the Onion. The article first talks about Front National figures praising Trump and his wall, then they go on to make a comparison with Algeria:
Indeed, for the Front National candidate, the similarities are numerous and incontestable: “both countries are hot, violent, economically and socially backward…I could continue for hours. Frankly, apart from the language, I don’t see much difference: it’s clear that Algeria is our Mexico,” she declares in her program.
And like her American counterpart, she certainly doesn’t intend to finance the project from public funds – Marine Le Pen made her commitment yesterday, declaring that she wanted to force Algeria to confront its responsibilities. Except that, in contrast to the United States, financing the construction by placing a surcharge on Algerian exports does not seem possible: “misery, delinquency and radical Islam are unfortunately not taxable,” regretted the FN president. “I therefore invite President Bouteflika to get together the sum of 9.36 billions euros as quickly as possible and send it to me via bank transfer or a postal order to the following address.”
This was then picked up by the Algerian newspaper El Hayat as if it was a real story.
