“This is terrible. This is terrible. This is gonna be a f***in’ n***** town.” – Marie Strumolo Burke, Bellville, NJ councilwoman, candidate for mayor, and municipal chair on the Essex County Democratic Committee.
Burke denies the voice is hers. The Primeau Forensics Lab says they are 85% certain the voice is Burke’s.
The incident took place a month ago, but has only generated mild local attention. The response by the local NAACP has been lukewarm. If Burke had been a Republican, it would be a major news story and the NAACP would be holding marches.
