Robert Tomanovich, a resident of Livonia, Michigan, erected a display with a Confederate battle flag and two nooses outside of his home.
Neighbors have been complaining, probably because muh racism. The response?
“Screw ’em.”
Tomanovich fled inside his home when a WXYZ-TV reporter asked him for comment, but one of his employees admitted to hanging the second noose in response to the neighbor complaints.
…
The employee, who declined to give his name, said he and his boss would not take down the flag or nooses.
“Hell, no,” he said. “We’re going to put up more.”
Tomanovich’s wife, Lindy, said the display was not intended to be racist.
“Robert has a friend that died in that way (hanging himself), and that’s in memory of his friend,” she said.
She claimed her husband’s family is from the south and they simply like the way the Confederate flag looks.
Not intended to be racist, eh? Perhaps that’s just an excuse, or perhaps she’s telling the truth. I’m not sure.
I like to think that it’s intended to be racist, though. Why would the employee get involved if it were just a memorial for a friend who hanged himself? Why would the employee declare that they’ll erect more nooses?
I’m digging the me ne frego attitude being exhibited. It’s always nice to see someone slapping political correctness in the face, especially in a humorous way.
