In April, Target stores made the decision to publicly embrace transsexualism by encouraging mentally deranged perverts to dress-up like women and use the women’s bathroom in their stores. They expressed with this a disregard for the safety of children and women, which many found despicable.

Over a million people signed a pledge to boycott the company, due to it’s aggressive assault on the safety and dignity of women and children. At the time, they couldn’t very easily walk it back at that point, lest they appear as though they are incapable of basic managerial decisions.

Their announcement of predator-friendly policies was – surprise, surprise – followed by a wave of perverted incidents in their stores.

Stock dropped 15% following the announcement of the policy.

The stock has climbed some since the incident, as memory of it fades, but is still roughly ten points lower than it was before the company began attacking public safety.

Recently, they came out and blamed the falling share prices on Apple.

The Street:

Target (TGT) warned Wall Street months ago that the second quarter would be challenging, and it looks as if executives weren’t kidding.

The discount retailer reported Wednesday that amid a sluggish consumer spending backdrop second-quarter same-store sales fell 1.1%, a sharp reversal from a 2.4% increase a year ago. It marked the first time Target delivered a same-store sales decline since a 0.3% drop in the first quarter of 2015, according to Bloomberg data.

Target shares are currently down over 7% to $70.

The primary driver of the sales pressure came from fewer people visiting Target stores — the number of transactions declined 2.2%, Target said. “Clearly traffic was our single biggest issue, and our number one challenge,” Target Chief Financial Officer Cathy Smith told TheStreet in a phone interview.

“Sales were well below the results we would expect over time,” Target CEO Brian Cornell told analysts on a conference call. Cornell assigned three things in particular to Target’s stumbles. First, sales of Apple (AAPL) products plunged 20%. It’s a broader story across the product suite,” said Cornell when asked about the problems selling Apple gear.

However, even while they are blaming the world’s foremost electronics manufacturer for the collapse, they have also decided it’s time to begin attempting to walk-back their pledge to create a dangerous and hostile environment for women and children.

Wall Street Journal:

Target Corp. said it will spend $20 million to add a private bathroom to each of its stores by next year, after customer protests of its policy allowing transgender individuals to use whichever restroom corresponds with their gender identity.

Most of Target’s 1,797 locations already have single-occupancy or unisex restrooms, but it will add the option to 277 stores by November and to about 20 remaining stores by March 2017, the company said on Wednesday.

Target’s finance chief Cathy Smith said the move is a response to feedback from customers voicing displeasure over the company’s bathroom policy. She added the customer discontent hadn’t had a material impact on sales.

Yeah – the collapse of their sales was Apple’s fault, rofl.

This is what winning looks like, people.
