You know, I really hate Floyd Mayweather, and was rooting for the underdog.
Having read the following, I would now rather see Mayweather win, I guess.
Boxer Manny Pacquiao may be looking to get the Tribe behind him as he heads into his fight of the century against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
The Filipino fighter has visited Israel several times and speaks warmly of his relationship with Jews, promoter Bob Arum says in a new interview on the eve of the bout in Las Vegas.
Arum noted in the interview with Israeli journalist Elie Seckbach that Pacquiao is a devout evangelical Christian, which may fuel his ties to the chosen people.
“He’s born-again and the born-agains they’re very pro-Israel,” said Arum. “They’re very pro-Jews.”
The promoter said in a video he was stunned to see Jewish symbols on several buildings at Pacquiao’s mansion.
“Everywhere you look, there’s a mezuzah,” Arum said. “There’s a mezuzah on every door.”
“I’ve never had a fighter with a mezuzah,” he added.
Arum said Pacquiao had been to the Jewish state three separate times.
Honestly, I don’t even think I’m going to bother watching the fight. Maybe catch highlights on YouTube.
