I know we’re still nine months out, but I’m thinking about going ahead and calling the 2016 US Presidential election for Donald Trump.
Because as long as you people get out there and vote, it’s already over.
A new poll in Massachusetts has Trump at 50%.
Trump’s numbers are going up because he is winning. People like winners. So the 35% he got in New Hampshire, the 32% in South Carolina – Super Tuesday, these numbers will get smashed. He may well win every state, save perhaps Texas – which is weird, huh? You’d think they’d really like the wall idea.
Probably, Rubio is going to come out as a solid second place, which will lead to increasing pressure for Cruz to throw himself under the bus. But the thing is, Cruz’ support is mostly evangelical due to an entire career of pandering to these people. And the evangelicals solidly prefer Trump over Rubio. Rubio is a Catholic, not viewed as “conservative” and has never even bothered to pander to evangelicals.
The people who were supporting Jeb – that was 5-10% in some states – may end up going with Trump as well. These voters mainly looked at Jeb as stable because he’s an experienced politician. Rubio has accomplished nothing in his life.
It all looks very, very good. Couldn’t really be looking any better.
