Niggas be like “muffugguh you speel dat sheet now you die muffugguh.”
Spilled coffee is what led a 15-year-old boy to stab a 52-year-old man in the heart on a downtown sidewalk last week, police said Monday.
Antonio Muralles was stepping out of the McDonald’s on Bedford Street with a cup of coffee Wednesday evening when he inadvertently bumped into the young teen, spilling coffee on him, police officers said at a news conference Monday.
“Words were exchanged and then without warning, he was viciously attacked and stabbed through the heart — a very heinous, tragic incident,” Capt. Richard Conklin said.
The boy and a 22-year-old man were arrested and charged with murder over the weekend. A third suspect was being sought.
The teen is set to be arraigned Tuesday. He was arrested at an East Side residence, and has not been named, as he is a minor. He is being held at the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center.
The 22-year-old, James McLamb, of New Haven, was already in custody in New Haven, having been arrested on an unrelated weapons charge Saturday, and was brought to Stamford, where he was arraigned Monday in state Superior Court and held in lieu of $2 million bond.
“It is with great sadness that you all are here with us today. But it is with pleasure I am announcing that we made two arrests today in the vicious assault and homicide of Tony Muralles,” Fontneau said, before turning to Muralles’ niece Rosa Olivia, sitting to the side of the reporters, to express his condolences.
Olivia, 39, who speaks little English, said through a friend she was very happy the two suspects were caught.
Lt. Diedrich Hohn said McLamb assaulted Muralles during the stabbing.
