Royalti the dog, was doused in flammable accelerant and then set on fire by the heartless mystery-meat creature. It was probably jealous of the dog’s pedigree.

A Cobb County man is accused of setting fire to a doghouse, causing severe burns to the female pit bull that was inside, according to police.

Calib Dansel Lanier, of Smyrna, was arrested Monday night at his home and charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and third-degree arson, both felonies, Cobb jail records showed. Lanier was being held Tuesday afternoon on $10,000 bond.

No information was released on a possible motive. An arrest warrant stated the dog did not belong to Lanier.

Calib Dansel Lanier did not own the dog.
