Nancy Pelosi Throws Cold Water in the Face of Ocasio-Cortez’ Steaming Hot “Green New Deal”

If politics was the rap music scene, Nancy Pelosi would be Nicki Minaj and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would be Cardi B.

Do you see the analogy?

Our favorite rational centrist columnist Chris Cillizza writes for CNN:

Thursday is a big day for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The New York freshman Democrat, who has rapidly become one of the biggest stars in her party, will formally introduce her much-touted “Green New Deal” — a package of legislation aimed at, among other things, addressing the threat posed by climate change.

Nancy Pelosi isn’t all that impressed. Asked about the “Green New Deal” in an interview with Politico on Wednesday, Pelosi dropped this amazing bit of shade on it:

“It will be one of several or maybe many suggestions that we receive. The green dream, or whatever they call it, nobody knows what it is, but they’re for it, right?”

I mean.

Pelosi knows exactly what she’s doing here. Her utter dismissiveness of the “Green New Deal” — and, by extension, AOC, who is the member most closely identified with it, is entirely intentional.

Pelosi knows that AOC is a rising national power — particularly among the most activist and liberal left. Given Ocasio-Cortez’s profile — and her influence among young, liberal members — Pelosi knows she can’t just ignore what the New York Democrat says and does. But she isn’t going to kowtow to AOC either.

Earlier this year, Ocasio-Cortez was passed over for a spot on the powerful Ways and Means Committee despite the fact that Joe Crowley, who she beat in a primary last summer, had a seat on Ways and Means. That decision didn’t come by accident — and it didn’t come without Pelosi knowing about it and likely directing it.

On climate, in particular, Pelosi’s umbrage about the “Green New Deal” — and AOC — is likely rooted in the fact that the California Democrat has long been a leading voice on global warming and climate change issues. (She referred to it as her “flagship” issue in the Politico interview.)

The idea that because Ocasio-Cortez has lent her name and support to the “Green New Deal,” then Pelosi has to suddenly change her legislative plans on how to address climate change, is anathema to Pelosi. (One wonders whether AOC’s decision to participate in a sit-in at Pelosi’s office during new member orientation late last year to draw attention to the “Green New Deal” didn’t sit too well with the speaker either.)

Yeah.

I mean.

I guess.

I would assume there is some kind of power struggle there. Women always have power struggles in the workplace. They are obsessed with it. And this is also a racial struggle. Pelosi lobbied her entire career to have white people replaced with brown people, but I guess she expected to retire before this program was forced on her.

Then it showed up in her office.

Nancy might not be thinking of it in terms of a racial struggle (I’m sure AOC is), but let’s be real: if AOC was white, she wouldn’t be saying all this ultra-insane stuff and having it celebrated as genius. I’m not going to say that a white bitch couldn’t be this dumb, but the media wouldn’t back up a white bitch that was saying stuff this dumb.

However, I can believe that Nancy doesn’t know what the green deal/dream is. Does anyone know what it is? I’ve been trying to figure it out and no one knows. She’s saying end fossil fuel by 2030, which would require us to either invent some kind of science fiction type energy source basically in the next few months, or just shut down 95+% of our energy consumption.

Now they’re saying they didn’t really mean “all fossil fuel.” But they only started saying that in the last couple days – people were pointing out how insane it was for over a week.

I don’t think that this is something that anyone is obligated to take seriously.

Also: isn’t “nobody knows what it is, but they’re for it, right?” a bit of self-deprecating humor referencing what she said about Obamacare way back when?

I’m getting nostalgic for Nancy Pelosi, and she hasn’t even been officially race-replaced yet.

We are all going to live to see a time when we remember the good old days of Nancy Pelosi. A time when brown people are forcing us to ride bicycles from New York to LA for business meetings.

You will have no choice but to take traveling jobs, since you will pay 98.3% of our income in taxes to support a global welfare state with roughly 6 billion poor brown people without jobs.

And I’ll tell you what: the Chinese aren’t going to pay the welfare for all of these brown people.

If you live in Megacity 1 without public housing assistance – which white people will not be allowed on, because of slavery and the Holocaust – your rent will be exactly six million.

The only thing that will stay the same is that the brown green new deal will still have a Jew behind it.

Only this will be a purple Jew.

Strap yourselves in, lads.

Because this can only get weirder from here on in.
