Kriscilla McHenry calmly sat in the defendant’s chair and entered a plea of no contest on Monday to reduced charges of second degree intentional homicide.
Dodge County Circuit Court Brian Pfitzinger accepted McHenry’s plea and found her guilty of causing the death of Michael Soeller.
Attorneys Jessica Moeller and Jon Helland appeared with McHenry, who wore green eye shadow that matched her green uniform top.
McHenry, 31, was found guilty of the stabbing death of Michael Soeller. Soeller, 43, was found dead in his apartment at Randolph Motel & Apartments, N9938 Highway 73, Randolph, Aug. 24.
An autopsy was conducted and it was determined that Soeller died of sharp force trauma with 38 individual stab wounds.
McHenry’s charges were reduced from first-degree intentional homicide.
According to the plea agreement, McHenry will plead no contest or guilty to the amended charge. The defense and prosecution will argue the length of the sentence, but the state will be limited to a recommendation of 25 years for an initial sentence and the maximum available for an extended sentence. However, the judge is not required to follow the plea agreement and is able to sentence up to 60 years in the prison system.
