Good going, Reggie!

FOX 5 Atlanta:

A College Park man was convicted Friday in the 2017 shooting death of his girlfriend who prosecutors said was trying to leave the abusive relationship.

On July 8, 2017, Faith Bittinger, 23, confided in a friend she planned to leave her longtime boyfriend Reginald Jones but confessed he told her he would kill her if that ever happened. Prosecutors said later that same evening, Jones stood over Bittinger in the bedroom of their Camp Creek Parkway apartment and shot her in the chest, killing Bittinger and her unborn child.

Jones told College Park Police at the time that Bittinger has shot herself, but later confessed to the crime.

Family and friends told investigators Jones had physically and mentally abused Jones throughout their 2-year relationship. Investigators said they also were evicted from a Cobb County apartment over a pas domestic abuse incident.

The 27-year-old Jones was convicted of murder, felony murder, feticide, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by first offender probation.
