Negro Facing Possible Death Sentence for Cracking White Man’s Skull and Raping His Wife

A Middleburg man is facing a possible death sentence after a grand jury indicted him on capital murder charges for the 2009 death of a former CIA contractor.

Twenty-six-year-old Anthony Roberts is the third person to face murder charges in the attack on William and Cynthia Bennett of Lansdowne. William Bennett was found dead with a cracked skull. Cynthia Bennett survived but suffered serious injuries. Roberts is charged with raping her.

Authorities have said the attack was random, and that Roberts and the others were gang members.
