John Shobe III, who admitted that he robbed a Domino’s Pizza store and killed someone as he attempted to get away, was sentenced this morning to life in prison with no chance at parole for 20 years.
Shobe, 23, of Bowling Green, shot and killed 51-year-old Harold Dean Johnson on Aug. 26, 2013, as he fled the Domino’s on Stonehenge Avenue, where he had carried out an armed robbery moments earlier.
Shobe did not speak at his sentencing hearing in Warren Circuit Court other than to say he read the pre-sentence investigation that was prepared for his case.

He pleaded guilty to the charges in August.
Johnson’s son, Dean Johnson Jr., said after the hearing that the case was difficult for most of his father’s family.
