Raekwon Winston.
The homeless white man exuded white privilege, and the negro just couldn’t tolerate it any longer.
A hearing has been scheduled for the Utica man accused of fatally shooting a homeless man in 2016, Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara said.
Raekwon Winston, 22, appeared in Oneida County Court on Wednesday for answer and argument on a number of motions filed by the defense and prosecution. He’s facing charges of one count of second-degree murder and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the death of 60-year-old Lawrence “Larry” Edwards.
Edwards was found dead May 7, 2016, in a parked vehicle in a lot at 301 Rutger St. in Utica.
Oneida County Court Judge Michael Dwyer scheduled a suppression hearing for Winston on Monday, Dec. 17.
