A woman from IJmuiden was assaulted by six men in Haarlem on Friday between 8.45 and 9.00 pm, according to a police report on Sunday. The woman, who was chased after a bus ride, was bruised black and blue according to a police spokeswoman and still has pains in her hip.
Two men, of around 25 years old, had made a remark to the 20 -year-old woman in bus route 75. A discussion followed and when the woman got off at the Minahassastraat stop close to the Rijksstraatweg, the men ran after her. Four other men, who apparently knew the pair, blocked her way at the Planetenlaan.
The six of them, of suspected North African origin, then surrounded the woman and kicked her. Even when the woman was lying on the ground, the violence continued. The woman finally managed to escape. As of yet no one connected with the case has been arrested.
Police are investigating the case, and would like to get in touch with witnesses. There may be bus passengers who had seen the woman and the two men on the bus.
