A BASED surprise from a country you never even bother to think about.

I suppose in itself, it doesn’t really mean very much. But it indicates a good attitude.

The Guardian:

The New Zealand government has banned the sale of existing homes to foreign buyers, saying New Zealanders were sick of being “tenants in our own land”.

Associate minister of finance David Parker said the ban would mean housing would become more affordable for locals, and supply would increase.

“We think the market for New Zealand homes and farms should be set by New Zealand buyers, not overseas buyers,” said Parker in an interview with the Guardian.

“That is to benefit New Zealanders who have their shoulder to the wheel of the New Zealand economy, pay tax here, have families here. We don’t think they should be outbid by wealthier people from overseas.”

In a speech to parliament on Wednesday he said: “We should not be tenants in our own land.”

This is a direct response to the Chinese buying up all of Australia.

It is a really good start to a thing.

By the way – the nation of New Zealand did not ban Lauren Southern and her beta orbiter Stefan Molyneux. It was just a specific venue that banned them. We reported this accurately, but some people seemed to think the nation itself banned them. It was easy to make that mistake, since Lauren “The Smirk” Southern was banned from the UK.

She also made a confusing fail-meme tweet that could be interpreted as implying she was banned by the government from entering the country.

New Zealand, due to its size, is able to maintain a certain degree of basedness.
