When people ask me who my favorite actor of all time is, I don’t hesitate: It’s Nicolas Cage.
If they ask me what my favorite of his films is I say all of them. If pressed hard, I say Face Off.
Nicolas Cage revolutionized the acting profession.
The biggest regret of my life is that he never made that Superman movie.
I recently watched a documentary about how it never got made.
What I can tell you also is: Nick Cage revolutionized fashion.
Now, he’s revolutionizing Kazakhstan.
Nicolas Cage continued his career as meme inspiration as he arrived at 13th Eurasia International Film Festival in Astana, Sunday.
Cage praised the hospitality of Astana’s residents, saying: “I can tell you, everybody was so hospitable, so friendly. I have never felt such a warm welcome.”
Earlier this weekend the start of Face/Off and Con Air was photographed alongside with Kazakhstan’s actress Ayman Musahodzhayeva wearing traditional long dressing gown chapan. The photo quickly took over the Internet, becoming part of numerous memes and collages.
As a world traveler I can tell you: it’s a very underrated country.
In other news, Nicolas Cage is in Kazakhstan. pic.twitter.com/ceAk0ktgqy

I also was invited to wear one of those costumes when I visited the country.
I don’t have the picture though, because the day after I took it my Android phone was stolen by a Kazakh hooker.
But she left a very nice note saying she needed the phone and half the money in my wallet ($40) – she literally let me keep half – to buy her mother medicine.
I have never been robbed by a hooker so nicely as in Kazakhstan. And I’ve been robbed by a lot of hookers, let me tell you.
