An elderly woman in New Port Richey is recovering after a violent home invasion.
The search is on for her attacker.
A dark home on Heather Street in New Port Richey is where the attack happened early Monday morning.
Detectives report a 71-year-old woman stopped by to check on the place for the homeowner.
But instead of being vacant, a man armed with a handgun, with a red or orange tip, sexually assaulted her.
The attacker is Hispanic or black, 25 to 35 years old. He’s about 6 feet tall and has a scar on his right forearm.
