I think we are all really thankful for that.
This is the moment a Norwegian minister thanked a cheering crowd of people after she received an award at Oslo Pride last week… by flashing her breasts.
Lubna Jaffery, the country’s Minister of Culture and Gender Equality, was handed the ‘Gay Mom 2024’ award in the Norwegian capital.
The award goes to women in the public realm who publicly defend the rights of the LGBTQ+ community, and who are considered idols by its members.
The 44-year-old politician proudly took to the stage at the Skeiv Preik (Queer Sermon) event on June 25 – which is a popular part of the city’s pride schedule.
‘I am very grateful to have been named Gay Mom, the main patron of queer people, at Oslo Pride this year. It is a great honour,’ she told a cheering crowd.
‘It was a small contribution. If you want to get an award like this, you have to be committed and not take yourself too seriously.’
As she spoke, Jaffery- dressed in purple – was seen to be un-tucking her top from her skirt, before thanking the crowd in a somewhat unconventional way.
She is seen in video from the event grinning as she lifts her top up to reveal her breasts – covered only by nipple tassels.
With her top lifted, she also spun around to show the people behind her – prompting even more cheers from the audience and raucous applause from the hosts.
‘It is important that everyone feels free. If you want to deserve such an honour, you have to give your soul and not take yourself so seriously,’ she added.
Jaffery’s stunt drew praise from the organisers of pride, all the way to Norway’s prime minister, who said it was ‘absolutely good’ that she flashed her breasts.

Joakim Aadland, the head of Pride, told the newspaper Dagbladet: ‘I think it’s wonderful that we have a minister who goes ‘all-in’ and is not afraid to put herself forward a little.
‘I’ve never experienced the applause she received in the ten years we’ve had Pride. So it’s clear that the audience appreciated Lubna’s stunt.’
Would it be weird if the culture minister in Pakistan was Norwegian?
