I am very critical of Apple as managed by Tim Cook, and his agenda to continue selling infinity cellphones forever as the company’s only business plan.
Obviously, the plot to kill people’s batteries in a planned obsolescence conspiracy and force them to buy new phones was bad business. But his non-secret plan to convert the company into a status-based “luxury brand” by charging $1500 for phones that should cost $400 appears to be a very bad strategy.
The reason I think this is because whereas most people cannot afford a $20,000 watch or a $400,000 Italian sports car, pretty much everyone in the West can afford to buy a $1500 phone if they really want one. So, by buying one, you are not proving that you are wealthy with money to burn, you are just proving you wasted $1500.
You do not achieve “people think I’m rich” status, instead you achieve “I look like a jerk-off” status.
If they’re going for status symbol, they should start charging 5-figures for the phones, in which case they will mean something as a status symbol.
I guess the strategy is to do this in countries outside of the West, where $1500 is some amazing amount of money. But then they’re going to have to beat out Huawei.
I will say that charging $1500 for a Motorola is smarter. As this is a novelty phone. If someone has this much money to waste on a goofy novelty, they probably are actually rich.
The legendary Motorola RAZR might be making a comeback as a $1,500 foldable screen smartphone, and it could launch as early as February, according to a new report from The Wall Street Journal.
The original RAZR was one of the most iconic cellphones ever made, and it seems that Motorola’s parent company Lenovo is looking to cash in on that branding with an updated foldable phone (similar to the one that Samsung has teased for later this year). Per the WSJ, the new RAZR will be exclusive to Verizon in the US with a planned February launch, although the device is still in testing and details have yet to be finalized.
Also unknown is nearly any concrete information about the phone. There’s no word yet on things like screen size, specifications, or even form factor.
…
According to the WSJ report, Lenovo is hoping to manufacture over 200,000 of the new RAZRs, which may seem optimistic for a $1,500 luxury smartphone. But considering that the (admittedly much cheaper) RAZR V3 model sold 130 million units over its lifespan, if lightning does manage to strike twice, that goal might not be so hard to hit.
Lenovo isn’t going to reach Apple levels with this scam, but they are likely to make a bunch of cash with a really low-effort swindle. Unlike Apple, which is losing a bunch of cash with really high-effort swindles.
That’s because chinks don’t even allow faggotism at all, let alone force their companies to hire faggots, let alone make faggots CEO.
I have said it before and I will say it again: Apple is failing because Tim Cook is an affirmative action CEO. They sold their brand as being some kind of leftist lifestyle guidance tool instead of simply a company that produces high-quality products, so they couldn’t have another heterosexual white male CEO.
Steve Jobs groomed him for this position, of course, for that reason. So I guess it is his fault.
But it is sad to watch this company just collapse in on itself as the gooks take over every sector of technology. Especially since this was the only top American tech company not owned by Jews. And the products had, for better or worse, become a symbol of American innovation.
I don’t really see how the company can go on indefinitely as an important player in the market. We all saw what happened to Nokia.
Look at that chart for a minute.
Do you notice the thing. See if you notice the thing before reading anymore.
That’s right.
The thing is that Huawei and the other chink brands are not on there. They started making smartphones after the collapse of Nokia.
There was room in the market for multiple smartphone producers throughout the 10s, but Nokia dropped the ball, going from having two times the market share of its nearest competitor to having none in under 3 years.
And that was due to one man, Steven Elop, being a completely incompetent CEO and not switching to Android and instead announcing that he was combining with Microsoft and attacking his own company in a purposefully leaked memo.
Whether or not that was part of a plot to be bought by Microsoft is irrelevant, because that didn’t work either.
This is high stakes stuff, and you can have someone screw up and lose very quickly.
Everyone I know who has an iPhone says they’re not buying another one, because the chink ones are better and less than half the price.
I think Apple is going to collapse.
Unlike Nokia, they will still be around making products, but they will drastically lose portions of their cellphone market, and may well screw up a bunch of other things due to this situation.
Apple should have started producing those Amazon Alexa home spying devices using Siri before Bezos did.
This is why you shouldn’t suck dick.
