On the Heels of That “Toxic Masculinity” Thing, Gillette is Glorifying Obesity

Remember Gillette’s toxic masculinity ad from January? That wasn’t enough.

Now they’ve gone beyond fat acceptance.

They’re glorifying full landwhaleism.

It’s not clear why they’re doing this. Fat women don’t care about their appearance, which is why they’re fat, so they’re less likely to shave and if they do shave… is that what you want your brand to be? “Gillette, the #1 choice of obese women, who lack self-control and self-respect”?

It’s almost as if this wasn’t about business strategies.

Almost as if this was about something else.

Almost.

The Guardian:

Unhealthy diets are responsible for 11m preventable deaths globally per year, more even than smoking tobacco, according to a major study.

But the biggest problem is not the junk we eat but the nutritious food we don’t eat, say researchers, calling for a global shift in policy to promote vegetables, fruit, nuts and legumes.

While sugar and trans-fats are harmful, more deaths are caused by the absence of healthy foods in our diet, the study found.

The research is part of the Global Burden of Disease study by the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) in Seattle, published in the Lancet medical journal.

Heart attacks and strokes are the main diet-related causes of death, followed by cancers and type 2 diabetes, say researchers.

The study found that eating and drinking better could prevent one in five deaths around the world. Although diets vary from one country to another, eating too few fruits and vegetables and too much sodium (salt) accounted for half of all deaths and two-thirds of the years of disability attributable to diet.

Our findings show that suboptimal diet is responsible for more deaths than any other risks globally, including tobacco smoking, highlighting the urgent need for improving human diet across nations,” they write.

Rather than trying to persuade people to cut down on sugar, salt and fat, which has been “the main focus of of diet policy debate in the past two decades”, it would be better to promote healthy options, they say.

“Generally in real life people do substitution. When they increase the consumption of something, they decrease the consumption of other things,” said Dr Ashkan Afshin of the IHME, the lead author.

Yeah, telling people not to eat things without telling them what to eat instead makes it harder for them to let go of unhealthy foods, especially if those unhealthy food are the main components of their diets.

The thing is that most people do have a pretty decent idea about what is healthy and what isn’t. Obese people know that the shit they eat turned them into the shits they are, but instead choose to blame their bad choices and habits on “genes” or “autoimmune disorders” or whatever.

It’s ludicrous.

Whatever disease or genetic disorder obese creatures think they have, that’s not the reason they’re obese.

If anyone thinks their genes or some disease is making them fat, they should try fasting for 3-5 days and see what the scale says. If they don’t eat, they’ll see how their weight goes down. Suddenly their bodies turn into fat-burning machines despite whatever woe they think they had.

It’s literally impossible for humans not to burn fat when fasting.

Lock her up, don’t feed her, and see what happens.

I’m not saying you should stop eating and fast until you burn all of your fat. That fate is reserved for the obese monstrosities we’ll put in the fat burning caps, the ones where the obese will only be able to get out of their cells by stepping on a scale with the correct weight.

I’m saying this to illustrate the point that maybe those woes make people gain fat easier and burn fat harder, but they don’t make people gain fat out of nowhere. They have to adapt to their circumstance and make better food choices, eat less total calories, and see what happens.

This can’t be stated enough: there’s literally no one that won’t burn fat by restricting calories. It’s only a matter of how big of a restriction they should implement.

There are other factors involved in fat burning, such as the overall hormonal profile of the person. Hormonal imbalances can make it harder for people to lose weight and easier for them to store fat, but they can’t make them generate fat out of nothing.

Burn fat and get your diet in order. You can fix your hormonal profile, and you can burn all the fat that you want to burn.
