Himal Patel also conned his last employer out of £100,000.

A vice president at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe faces jail after admitting stealing nearly £1m from the firm.

Himal Patel, 39, won his job at the company even though he had a conviction for conning his previous employers British Telecom out of £100,000.

The department manager submitted false invoices claiming payment in the names of other companies but pocketed the cash himself.

Patel is thought to have spent the stolen money on his gambling addiction.

He appeared at the Old Bailey to plead guilty to three counts of fraud by abuse of position between March 2009 and April 2012.

Judge Paul Worsley QC granted Patel conditional bail until sentencing in March.

Patel, of Finchley, had been convicted of false accounting in 2006.
